The Railroaders Memorial Museum is currently seeking maintenance and gift shop employees. Positions are seasonal and contractual. We are looking for part-time employees who enjoy working with the public and have a friendly, outgoing personality. As a team-oriented company, we seek individuals who can be flexible with work hours. Ideal candidates are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and relations and display a positive attitude when interacting with both customers and employees.

Qualifications for both: Excellent communication and teamwork skills; competence in patience, enthusiasm, problem solving, time-management, attention to detail, initiative, and flexibility a must; a positive and helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey accurate historically relevant information from the training knowledge you will receive; the ability to stand for long periods of time during busy days and special events; completed clearances preferred: PA child abuse history, PA criminal record, and FBI criminal history; and must be available to work March-November, including weekends, 20 hours per week.

Railroaders Memorial Museum Internship

Internship

The Railroaders Memorial Museum is currently seeking interns for the spring semester. The Assistant Registrar internship is a 13-week internship for current students of a relevant program (i.e. History, Museum Studies, Library Science, or another related field). This is a for-credit internship through individual departments with no stipend offered. Intern will be responsible for the physical inventory of artifacts; production of inventory reports; accession of artifacts after being donated to Museum; and because this person will find themselves dealing with the public on occasion, will serve as the Museum’s ambassador/liaison to all visitors with whom they come into contact.
